Rotterdam is a port built by pioneers. In the dynamic world of logistics and industry, to stand still is to fall behind. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is therefore continuously searching for ways of making its operations better, smarter, more efficient and more sustainable.
Bring the port inside! In all of the central areas of the Port Authority’s offices – along the corridors and around the lifts – you see and feel the port. Because of the view of course, but now also in the interior decoration. With enormous photos with close-ups of details of the port on the walls, for example. Running along the photos and the walls are yellow lines to represent the unending streams of cargo, people, water and energy. Elsewhere there are inspiring quotes to provide food for thought.
The striking lamps in the shape of a buoy – Smidswater’s own design – that you see here are also based on the corporate identity and produced by us.
The new design mix encourages more people to use these shared spaces for meetings and for contemplation. And it feels great, employees tell us.
We mustn’t forget the stairwell, which we also decorated with infographics, quotes and perfectly clear signposting.
The new design mix encourages more people to use these shared spaces for meetings and for contemplation. And it feels great, employees tell us. These areas now have a real ‘make it happen’ vibe. The Port of Rotterdam Authority really feels like a port company.
“Because of the refinement with which our corporate identity is reflected in our offices, they really feel like home. The furniture also invites informal contact, something there was a huge demand for. The success of the branding of the shared spaces is now carried over into the work floors, which have been given the same look and feel.”
